Jeff Wheaton, raised in Miramichi NB, residing in Halifax NS, has a long connection to music. Playing in various bands through the 90s and 2000s (Cutter John, Smiley, Heavy Meadows, Jill Barber) before moving to a career in film and television as an award winning cinematographer. His musical explorations never ceased, only deepened; joining a community orchestra, performing Jesus Christ Superstar singalong concerts, creating soundtracks for experimental  films. 

His first solo songwriting project, “Songs of Trouble for Gen X Dudes” emerges from the twang of a resonator guitar and a surge of winter creativity. Turning his eye to his generation, these character driven songs play like short films with an alt-country shuffle. Tinged with wit and sincerity, the songs encompass themes of sports, exercise, sex and the pressures of a fast changing world.
